The Whispers of the Eternal Slayers

In the time before the sun liberated us from the Dragons, when the world trembled beneath fire and shadow, the first Emperor of Aerys called forth the guardians of the realm. From the heat of the newly born kingdom, from the fury of dragons and the cries of men, arose the First Slayers.

They were not men, nor women. They were the edge of the Sun’s will, the instruments of its judgment. Their names were not spoken, for the living feared to give voice to death. Only their titles endured: North, South, East, and West.

The Slayers held the borders of Aerys in molten hands. The North scorched beneath the breath of dragons, the South choked on the sands of war, the East was lashed by storms, and the West shook with the fury of mountains. Each Slayer was the sun’s flame made flesh, swift, terrible, and without mercy.

And so it was written: No Slayer grows old. No Slayer leaves heirs. Only the title remains, passing from one bearer to another, as inevitable as dawn.

Through countless generations, the titles were borne and the world endured. Each Slayer rose, fought, and fell, their bodies forgotten, their deeds swallowed by the smoke of battle. Yet the land remembers, for the Sun’s judgment never fades. They are with us still, though the old names are forgotten. Some speak them only in fear:

The North bears the fists of brass. Some call him Amon, though few dare to speak it aloud.
The West bears the greatsword. Some whisper Kerrick, though the sound trembles like ash in wind.
The South bears the scythe. Some breathe Leila’s name, but only when shadows hide them.
The East bears the axe. Some remember Sebastian, though fear seals the tongue of every witness.

They walk the borders of Aerys, living flame against the dark. Mortal yet eternal, their lives are brief, but their terror endures. Their titles are the law, their presence the Sun’s warning: to falter is to be burned away, forgotten as though never born.

Blessed and feared be the Eternal Slayers. Speak not their names in light, but remember their deeds in shadow. For they live for fire, and die for ash.
