Kerrick’s General Thoughts
I find myself increasingly troubled by the actions of these rebels. Their intentions, they claim, are noble. They seek the betterment of their people. Yet the means by which they pursue these goals are… questionable at best. Lies, thievery, and the sacrifice of their own number seem to be acceptable tools in their eyes. It is difficult for me to see how such choices might sustain them in the long term, even should they meet with short-term success. The groups choices may lie in different places, but the trust stays strong. Rona might think she’s going into this alone, but I hope she knows that I’ll be right around the corner with my eye on her every step of the way.
Kerrick’s Thoughts on the group
Rona
“These guards have so much power, you want to give them more?” Ah, Rona. If only you could see the truth of things. Guards are powerless in this world. That is precisely why so many among us act out, why we cling to the orders given us. We are much like your family’s rebels, bound to obey, yet rarely told why. That knowledge is reserved for those above.
I worry that you are being manipulated by your Brother. He tasks you with something that could get you imprisoned, and yet you follow blindly, just as his soldiers did. Please, Rona, for your own safety, come back to us. The last thing I want is for Yasin to send you in as a sacrifice as well.
Florien
“A decade apart, and nothing to offer but a difficult decision” You surprised me today, Your quiet demeanour had led me to believe you required protection. Yet today proved me mistaken. You possess courage enough to stand for your convictions, no matter the cost. I never thought I would witness you and Rona have a difference, but it’s bound to happen with everyone who has grown as close as you two have. It is clear you care for her, she must now come to see that for herself.
Adam
“He’s using your kindness against you” Those words of yours struck me deeply. Not that long ago, I held similar thoughts regarding Tarvo. Adam, the wilderness has left its mark upon you. Not only in hardship but in growth. I wonder of what kind of people you encountered on your travels, for it is clear they have instilled in you a profound empathy. Yet empathy is a blessing and a curse. It reveals the world’s pain to you, yes, but not all men can bear such weight.
Kerrick’s Thoughts on specific NPCs
R.A.T.I
An interesting being, something completely made of metal, his voice still echoes in my mind. How did this contraption come to be? I’ve heard stories of such contraptions, but they were mostly historical text I read while still in Aerys.
Willow
She follows orders, for this I relate to her, she is put in a rough spot because of her position, but her empathy cannot be ignored. She was the one who truly spent all that time with those Soldiers, not Yasin. I hope she grows to be heard and respected because she deserves that at the very least.
Yasin
Explosives, sending his soldiers in blindly, letting them be pieces in his big game of chess, the very thought of it makes my stomach turn. People, lives, souls, they exist, these soldiers believed in what they were doing, in the cause, yet had no idea they were actually just sacrificial pawns for a plan with no end in sight.
Gwendolyn
The time for hesitation is over. It is time to find you.
