Kerrick’s General Thoughts
The lead of Arispira’s family got us far, yet I now suspect we have reached the final leg of that particular pursuit. Rumors, speak of survivors of the Red Raids taking shelter within the Apartments. It is there, I believe, that our next course lies.
The region in which these Apartments stand is of singular beauty. It is as though the city life is absent all together from this place. It’s quite peaceful in times like this.
Rumors about myself
A dragon’s roar as I swing? Utter nonsense, of course… albeit rather flattering. I admit, such theatrics would make for a fine entrance.
I appreciate Adam standing up for me, shutting down the rumors, for if I were to stand up to them myself, it would only confirm that a Dragon Slayer was indeed in Waterdeep, and I can’t have that information being out there. I’ll let these false rumors stand. Let them jest and whisper all they want.
Kerrick’s Thoughts on the group
Adam
Adam remains a curious fellow. I suspect he perceives me as lacking in conviction, hesitant, perhaps even timid. He is mistaken. I act with deliberation, not fear. There is a time to step forward and a time to observe. I pride myself on knowing the difference.
His conversation with the Dryad seemed to bring him Hope, “She’s alive” he said. I hope the words this creature speaks are true. Though, I cannot dismiss the knowledge that many beings of the wild possess manipulative tactics. Their wisdom, their truths, often cloaked in riddles, serves as the end of many individuals.
Florien
Florien, a man of quiet resolve, charting his own course through a world, rare nowadays it seems. There is a discipline in him, he is still maturing, but I have seen the beginnings of something admirable. A careful mind, nimble hand, and a growing mastery of his blade. I trust he can take care of himself. The city is no place for the unprepared, I sense he understands this well.
Rona
I find myself concerned for her wellbeing. There is a weight upon her shoulders, that much is clear. Though it seems like she was really considering these reckless acts her brother is asking of her.
By the Gods Rona, you better stay out of trouble, I can’t save you if you end up in the prison here in Waterdeep. The law is as strong as iron here, and even a Dragon Slayer has legal limitations.
Kerrick’s Thoughts on specific NPCs
Bertram the Tabaxi
It’s rare that I come across Tabaxi, A gentle soul, soft of speech and deep of thought. Few of his kind remain in the city, and fewer still who would risk sheltering the young. I offered him a path, sending the children to Aerys, where they may yet find peace. I pray he considers it.
He seemed to have come across Arispira’s Family, but he knew of her as Melody, maybe a false name? He said they went to Ashvara, but something about that didn’t sit right with me. Ashvara, veiled and sealed as it is, does not permit entry lightly. Only those of a certain soul may pass through.
DRYAD
A mystical creature, a creature of deep rooted magic and memory, it took the form of a tree before our very eyes. I was left wondering, what tongue did it speak? How is it that Adam understood it so naturally? It granted him comfort regarding Gwendolyn, but what could this creature know? Could it really have been around for long enough that it knows of even the Red Raids themselves? I should consult with Sekaroth about this creature, maybe he’s seen them around when he was on this plane.
Gwendolyn
Adam seems to be confident of your survival now, this brings me more peace than I think he realized. One step at a time, we will find you. One step at a time.
